FAQs
What will joining flywyld Aviators do for me?
The flying club is designed to give members access to multiple aircraft at a fixed monthly price. Every airplane is designed around a “mission” such as cross-country flying, backcountry, or basic airmanship. Very few individuals can afford to own their own airplane, let alone afford to have access to aircraft specializing in multiple missions. flywyld Aviators gives a person that level of access at an affordable monthly rate.
Joining a flying club also introduces you to many other club members who, like you, love aviation and who fly the same aircraft giving you an instant aviation family. So broaden your aviation experience and join the flywyld Club today.
Can I take the aircraft overnight or for a weekend or longer trip?
Yes! It’s one of the joys of having an airplane. To travel to distant and exciting places for a few nights or weekend is an incredible experience.
We don’t charge our members special fees for ‘prime time’ reservations such as weekends, but we do ask that members follow through and fly as they intended during these peak-times. Demand is typically higher on weekends and members respect each by only reserving the aircraft when they will actually use it.
Can I fly whenever I want?
Yes, you can reserve the airplane whenever you like, night or day, providing you are an appropriately rated pilot current in the conditions you reserve the aircraft for.
Additionally, the scheduling software limits each member to four (4) reservations at one time. This restriction can be lifted with a phone call or email to a club officer who can approve longer reservations.
flywyld has this four reservation restriction to ensure that members have access to the airplanes and that no one member can take up all the availability by over reserving.
So, if you have four reservations in the system you would need to fly one of those or cancel one before the scheduler will allow you to reserve another time.
What types of typical events does flywyld hold?
Social events such as BBQ’s and golfing trips, country camping trips, as well as educational events like special speakers, ATC facility tours joint activities with EAA Chapters, and more! We leverage our existing aviation network and make it rewarding to be a member of the flywyld Aviators Club.
How does flywyld’s insurance work?
Members of flywyld are covered under the club’s policy for all aircraft they are qualified to fly and have been checked out for. Members may be held responsible for any damage determined to occur from outright negligence, however. Having a renter’s policy is not a bad idea as a backup, but not required.
Can I take friends and family along on flights?
Of course! Share the joy of aviation with anyone who will go with you. Of course, if you take a passenger in the aircraft and they get sick or otherwise damage the interior of the airplane then you are responsible for cleaning that up immediately.
Understandably, we at flywyyld don’t want to clean up after one another. Empty all trash in the airplane and clean the windows and interior appropriately. Treat the plane as if it is yours and we will all enjoy the pride of well-maintained aircraft together.
